some elin tips

I've had this game in my list for a year. A game that's been gifted to me. It's a game I haven't played until recently when I was bored waiting for Once Human to finish maintenance. This game is called Elin.

Image isn't mine. It's a Steam page screenshot but you get the gist of what it looks like and its UI.
It's a weird game but I love it. I'm, what you could say, ✨addicted✨. I briefly played its predecessor Elona years ago but when I heard that the developer was leaving the project, I lost interest in it. If you've ever played Tales of Maj'Eyal, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, or any other turn-based roguelike, and said to yourself, "HMMM! This is missing something cozy!" then Elin might be the thing you're looking for. It has the dungeon crawling and movement style but with a life sim/sandbox aspect to it.
Enough blabbering! I'll write some of my notes about the game here.
- Early foods - berries, mushrooms, crim, and api.
- Heal hp or stamina by using a bed or using the "Rest" ability.
- You can craft stuff without having to have the ingredients in your inventory. Just being near the storage boxes is enough.
- If you make a Millstone, you can make a food item called Kibble. It'll never spoil.
- You can find the Millstone recipe from Fiama. Costs 1 gold bar.
- Weeds give "Leaf"
- Flowers, weeds, etc that are still growing give "a tuft of grass".
- Bait can be found under Quick Craft when you press B to bring up your abilities. This is also where you'll find how to make a Workbench.
- Get tools from the Tinker's Table which can be made from the Workbench.
- Make fishing bait by using body parts, mushrooms, and bones.
- When you kill enemies, sometimes they drop "ofal". I usually use that for bait since I'm in early game. Don't know what else it's used for for now. Selling it gives 0 orens.
- I gave one of my followers a good weapon by accident. How do I get it back without losing affinity? I looked this up and someone said to wait 'til your affinity is 75+. Then you can get things back without problems.
- Naughty books, when read, allow you to find weakspots of enemies. (This one was funny. 😂)
- If you were poisoned, eat a blue herb.
- If your mining skill isn't great, train it by mining dirt.
- Increase carry weight by having the "Burdened!" debuff. Then walk around and do your thing. You'll see "Weightlifting" level up.
- Sometimes, mining dirt will give you a gold bar.
- If you find a broom, don't throw it away! It's labelled as junk but you can use it to clean the blood and bits on the ground.
That's it for now!
